As rumors continue to swirl around Mitch Marner, it appears that cap wages tweeted out he proposed monster trade between the Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs which would send Charlie McAvoy north to Canada.

The deal would see Mitch Marner head to Beantown in exchange for Charlie McAvoy who would help the Leafs greatly on their defense corps. Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has been working the phones and seeking out ways to improve the Maple Leafs defense corps and has signed Oliver Eckman Larsson and Chris Tanev to help bolster that position.

Adding McAvoy into the mix along with Morgan Riley would give the Leafs a strong defense that has been lacking for many years. On the flip side, the Bruins would acquire an elite scorer and playmaker who would help drive a line and be a factor in every game during the season. His playoff record has been lackluster at times but a possible change of scenery could benefit Marner.

Do I feel this trade his plausible? no I can't see this happening as the Bruins and the Leafs are archrivals and to make the money work the Bruins would have to sign Marner to a mega contract north of $12 million per year.

I firmly believe that both players will be on their same Teams when the season starts in October and I can't see a path for marner to be anywhere else unless a major shift will happen between the two parties.
