Milan Lucic, having rejoined the Boston Bruins, is experiencing sheer delight, and his excitement shows no signs of waning as the 2023-24 regular season approaches.
In a recent interview on the 'Dropping The Gloves' Podcast with former NHL enforcer John Scott, Lucic revealed that he anticipates tears of joy when he is reintroduced to the TD Garden faithful on October 11th, during the season opener against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Despite several teams showing interest in the 35-year-old, rugged winger (NHL sources mentioning the Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, and Chicago Blackhawks to Boston Hockey Now), Lucic ultimately followed his heart back to where his career began in 2007.
Drawing upon his own experience, Lucic alluded to the Bruins' previous bounce-back from a similar collapse during the 2010-11 season, which led to their Stanley Cup victory.
With the recent disappointment of blowing a 3-1 series lead to the Florida Panthers, the 6-foot-3, 240-pound winger hopes the 2023-24 Boston Bruins can replicate that triumphant turnaround.
