The Boston Bruins are trying to save their season, and have recently been linked to Brock Nelson of the New York Islanders, but it seems like that isn't going to happen.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed on his 32 Thoughts Podcast that there has been a lot of talk around Brock Nelson, but it's unclear what direction the Islanders are going to go with him.

«I'll say this like we're all talking about Brock Nelson and I don't know what's going to happen here,» Friedman said on the 32 Thoughts podcast.

«But you know people are afraid to talk about it because it's [GM Lou] Lamoriello and they don't want to cross Lamoriello but at this point in time, the Islanders really haven't shown a lot of indication that they don't want to that they want to do anything with them»

There were multiple reports that linked the Boston Bruins, along with other teams to Brock Nelson, but a recent report may have just confirmed his fate with the Bruins.

Nelson, even at the age of 33-years-old is still producing at a solid page with a terrible New York Islanders team.

This season he has 16 goals, 17 assists for 33 points in 53 games. He could definitely be a big impact player for a team like the Bruins or another contender.

Brock Nelson reportedly offered a three-year contract extension

According to a new report that has come out, the New York Islanders are keen on working out a deal with Brock Nelson, and instead have listed defenseman Noah Dobson on the trade block.

According to a sourced report from @TheRGMedia, #Isles are shopping Noah Dobson and have offered Brock Nelson a three-year extension.

«He is available for trade».

Sources indicate that #NYI defenseman Noah Dobson is indeed available for the right price on the NHL trade market, while Lou Lamoriello seems keen to retain Brock Nelson.

With this report coming out, it's unlikely that the Boston Bruins or any other team that was showing interest in him will be able to acquire him unless the Islanders get a package for him that they cannot turn down.
