The Boston Bruins Have Confirmed Another Roster Transaction Amidst Brutal Injury News
The Boston Bruins have announced and confirmed another roster transaction amidst brutal injury news this morning.
The announcements have not stopped from the Boston Bruins this morning following a bunch of terrible injury news.
The Bruins revealed this morning that they have called up two players, Matthew Poitras, and Michael Callahan after several players were placed on Injury Reserved.
It was confirmed by the Boston Bruins this morning that both Charlie McAvoy, and Mark Kastelic are being placed on Injury Reserved and both players will be unavailable for tonight's game.
The team has recalled forward Matt Poitras and defenseman Michael Callahan from Providence; placed forward Mark Kastelic on injured reserve (Date of Injury: Jan. 9); placed defenseman Charlie McAvoy on injured reserve (Date of Injury: Jan. 11); placed defenseman Hampus Lindholm on long-term injured reserve (Date of Injury: Nov. 12). McAvoy to IR, Poitras and Callahan up, Hampus Lindholm to LTIR
With these injuries taking place, the Bruins have recalled Matt Poitras and Michael Callahan. Head coach Joe Sacco confirmed that Matt Poitras will be playing for the Bruins tonight, but it's unclear if Callahan will or not.
Callahan is an option for tonight despite not being at morning skate.
The 25-year-old defenseman has appeared in all 35 games this season for the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League, and has recorded one goal, along with five assists for six points.
Originally drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the fifth round of the 2018 NHL Entry Level Draft, Callahan has skated in 175 career American Hockey League games with the Providence Bruins and has a total of seven goals, 26 assists for 33 points.
The Bruins are going to have an interesting roster for their rematch tonight agains the Tampa Bay Lightning as they will be missing some key pieces.
