The Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics have both fallen short in the Playoffs of their respective sports. After a promising regular season, the city of Boston was excited to see both NBA and NHL parades this summer.

Not only losing a huge game seven at home, but both teams lost to an 8-seed. This sets an unfortunate record, Boston becomes the first city EVER to lose a home game 7 to an 8-seed in both hockey and basketball in the same season. Additionally, to make matters worse. The loses came from two teams in the state of Florida, the Miami Heat and Florida Panthers.

Both teams were projected to bring championships back to the city of Boston, but the Bruins got knocked out in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in game seven. As for the Celtics, they had a longer stay in the NBA playoffs but lost in the semi-finals to the Miami Heat, in game seven after going down three games to none.

This is the first time in a long time, where Boston has seen such an unfortunate break. Both teams have been playoff contenders almost every year, yet the Celtics haven't won a championship since 2008 and the Bruins in 2010. No matter how dominant the green and gold have been, neither team has been able to win a ring in over a decade.
