Could you imagine Brad Marchand wearing a different jersey than the spoked-B? The possibility remains as numerous teams have called the Bruins about his availability.

This year is a different year for the Bruins, and Captain Brad Marchand who for all intents and purposes could be on the trade block.

With the team falling in the rankings in the Atlantic, GM Don Sweeney may have to hit the panic button and retool the lineup.

The start of that in practice could mean trading Brad Marchand.

According to NHL Insider Jimmy Murphy, there have been five teams linked to the Bruins Captain at the moment.

They're getting calls on [Marchand], and teams are wondering what they're going to do here, but, at this point, I think they're just listening. Still, the fact that the Bruins or Marchand haven't come right out and squashed this like they have in the past is telling. With things also being so quiet on contract talks, it tells you this is getting real.

It appears that if Marchand would end up wearing another team's colors, he'll be competing for a Stanley Cup either way.

However, that does depend on how contractual negotiations go after the Four Nations Face-Off concludes. The pending UFA could be dealt to five of these NHL teams listed as suitors.

Colorado Avalanche
Edmonton Oilers
Minnesota Wild
Dallas Stars
Vegas Golden Knights

GM Don Sweeney could move Marchand to a cup contender, and ask for a first-round pick, and a prospect for Marchand.

However, since the Avs lack a first during the 2025 draft they could be an early exit from acquiring the Captain.

And who would you expect to grab the reins, other than the Vegas Golden Knights who could make a move if the Bruins do decide to trade their Captain?

Marchand has scored 20 goals again as of Sunday, for the 12th time in his career, and for the 14th time in his 16-year career.

Whoever makes a deal for Marchand will have to pay a significant sum for the former Stanley Cup winner.
