Former Boston Bruins Forward Officially Calls It A Career And Retires
After 16 seasons in the National Hockey League, former Boston Bruins forward Loui Eriksson has officially announced his retirement.
When with the Dallas Stars organization, Eriksson was a 25+ goal scorer and 70-point forward, but things took a turn for him after that.
In the off-season of the 2013 season, the Boston Bruins ended up trading Tyler Seguin along with Peverley, and defenceman Ryan Button to the Dallas Stars in exchange for forward Loui Eriksson and prospects Joe Morrow, Reilly Smith, and Matt Fraser.
Eriksson was pretty solid for the three seasons he played with the Boston Bruins organization. In total he played in 224 games from 2013-14-2015-26 and ended up scoring 62 goals, and had 85 assists for 147 points with the organization.
After leaving the Boston Bruins and signing a massive deal six-year $36 million deal with the Vancouver Canucks, Eriksson did not have a single season over 30 points and fans heavily criticized him for it.
The fall off was hard, and the Canucks had to watch some key and talented players leave the organization due to not having cap space to sign them.
