Tragic news strikes former Boston Bruins fan favourite
Former Boston Bruins forward, Tomas Nosek has just received troubling information. He has suffered an injury that will keep him out of the Florida Panthers lineup for some time.
Tomas Nosek was a staple in the Bruins lineup for the last two seasons, and then he would stay for a season in New Jersey.
After an unsuccessful run there, he wanted to someplace he knew he could win a cup, and signed for 1-year in Florida, for a $775K contract value.
Nosek would only play 36 games with the Devils last year, with a season that was ultimately forgettable, scoring 6 points(2 G, 4 A) a =/- rating of -11 in 36 games.
He'd been a healthy scratch during the 2023-2024 year, and was out on injury as well, shortening his season.
Now, in 2024-2025 it seems as if he is starting off this season on the same foot.
Nosek would be tripped by #3 Jeremy Lauzon and would end up face-first into the boards.
He would have to be helped off the ice, and the determination for the grinder isn't great.
It has been reported that Nosek will be out of the Florida Panthers for multiple weeks.
Though no confirmation of an official number regarding the length of his injury.
Nosek played 141 games in Boston, scoring 35 points( 10 G, 25 A) and 65 hits.
The depth forward had hoped to find a new chance to win a Stanley Cup in Florida, with the firebrand Panthers, but for now, he will have to rest up and put his hopes and dreams on hold, while healing up.
Even before they finally won the Cup this year, Nosek knew they were on to something.
«That season was historic,» Nosek said. «We never lost, I think, two games in a row, and then in the playoffs they beat us three games in a row. It was a special team, special group. I knew that back then. They proved it this year. They won it all. It's a great group of guys.»
From foe to friend, he's now hoping to help the Panthers repeat as champs.
«That's why I chose to sign with the Panthers,» Nosek said. «I think they're a good team and have a chance to do it again. I want to win, and I'd do anything to help that team win again.»
