We now know when Brad Marchand will be leaving the Boston Bruins
Not long ago on Sportsnet's 'Saturday Headlines' segment, Elliotte Friedman one of the most trusted insiders in the NHL revealed when Brad Marchand will more than likely be leaving the Boston Bruins.
Elliotte Friedman reported that the Boston Bruins and Brad Marchand and close to agreeing on a contract extension. Friedman revealed that the extension would be a three-year deal, but wouldn't say what the salary would be or close to. This would bring Brad Marchand to 41-years-old when his contract is up in 2028-29, and he would more then likely retire after that.
Things took a turn after Brad Marchand and Jim Montgomery got into a physical altercation last week when the Bruins lost their game to the Utah Hockey Club in overtime.

Both Jim Montgomery and Brad Marchand downplayed this altercation, and Montgomery had this to say about the situation.
«Between Marchy and I, there didn't need to be a conversation. Him and I are both emotional people. I'm not ecstatic with myself about it, but I don't think about it afterwards and neither does he. He's a pro. He's a great player that does so many good things for us, and he has high expectations as well. So, for us, that's over and done with«.
The Bruins were supposed to be a more competitive team this year after making some big signings in the off-season but it has not looked that way for them so far. They have a 3-4-1 record to begin the season, and if things don't change soon for the Bruins, Jim Montgomery might be on his way out.
Brad Marchand has not helped the case either, through 8 games so far, he only has 5 assists, and his defensive play has been horrendous.
Brad Marchand is aging and you can see it in his game, the bruins can no longer rely on him like they use to be able too.
