1000-Game Veteran Announces His Retirement From The NHL
Veteran forward Zach Parise has announced his retirement from the NHL after an illustrious 19-year career spanning four teams.
Parise confirmed this decision in an interview with NHL.com, expressing peace with his choice after contemplating retirement last summer but opting for one final season.
The 39-year-old, drafted 17th overall in 2003, boasts 880 points in 1,229 games with the Devils, Wild, Islanders, and now the Avalanche, who signed him for the current season.
As Parise embarks on his farewell tour, he joins the Stanley Cup-contending Colorado Avalanche, prompting speculation on his potential swansong championship run.
