Less than a week since the NHL granted veteran forward Corey Perry clearance to sign with any team, speculations are rife about his next destination.

The Chicago Blackhawks terminated Perry's contract on Nov. 30, 2023, due to an undisclosed incident. Now, the focus shifts to where the tenacious forward might land.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, appearing on the Jeff Marek show, discussed the possibilities of Perry signing with a Canadian team like the Maple Leafs or Oilers.

Friedman, however, raised the question of whether Perry would prefer a quieter destination over the pressure-cooker markets of Edmonton or Toronto.

"I just think one of the questions is, is Perry going to want somewhere quieter?" Friedman pondered. "TOR is a loud market, I don't think that's going to work. EDM's a louder market, though I definitely believe they have interest. Are there going to be some teams in quieter situations?"

Friedman's insights open the door to various potential destinations for Perry. The speculation gains traction as a tweet suggests Florida as a likely fit, with Perry possibly returning to familiar surroundings in Tampa or finding a perfect fit with the Panthers.
