Phil Kessel takes a shot at Bruins biggest rival
Phil Kessel delighted Toronto once again as he brought the Stanley Cup to the city. Sources confirm that the 35-year-old veteran, who spent six seasons with the Maple Leafs from 2009 to 2015, celebrated his day with the coveted trophy on Tuesday.
In keeping with tradition, Kessel gathered with family and friends, enjoying the festivities at a downtown rooftop bar.
This return to Toronto comes as no surprise, as the city holds a special place in his heart. In 2016, after winning his first Cup with Pittsburgh, Kessel graciously shared the joy by bringing the Stanley Cup to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children.
Since his departure from Toronto, Kessel has had a successful career, winning two consecutive Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins and recently securing his third ring with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Although he now plays a depth role, Kessel's Ironman streak of 1,064 consecutive regular season games remains impressive, and he has no plans to retire, expressing his desire to play in the upcoming season as an unrestricted free agent.
