In a surprising revelation about NHL coaching tenures, former Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy, now with the Vegas Golden Knights, is already the sixth longest-tenured coach in the league.

Hired on June 14, 2022, Cassidy's quick rise up the tenure ranks highlights the frequent coaching changes in the NHL.

Leading the list are coaches like Jon Cooper of the Tampa Bay Lightning, who's been in place since 2013, and others who have been coaching for a few years at most.

Bruce Cassidy is the 6th longest-tenured coach in the NHL.

He was hired by Vegas on June 14, 2022.

That's bonkers.

1. Jon Cooper, TBL - 3/25/13
2. Mike Sullivan, PIT - 12/12/15
3. Jared Bednar, COL - 8/25/16
4. Rod Brind'Amour, CAR - 5/8/18
5. Martin St. Louis, MTL - 2/9/22

Cassidy's position so soon after his appointment illustrates both his recognized ability and the overall instability of coaching roles in the league.
