After offer sheeting Dylan Holloway in the off-season, he has played a big part in the St. Louis Blues success so far this year, but he was struck with a scary injury Tuesday night, and ended up leaving the game.
There are multiple different ways that players can be injured on the ice from a skate, stick, hit, a fall, etc... On Tuesday Dylan Holloway was hit with one of the worst possible injuries you can suffer on the ice, being hit by the puck. While playing the Tampa Bay Lightning, Holloway went to block a shot ended up taking the puck to the neck. He would go on to finish his shift, but would soon be stretchered off on the bench.
The play did not look like much, especially since he ended up finishing his shift, but something clearly did not feel right or sit well with him after being hit in the neck with the puck, and the arena went quiet with many worrying about his health and well being.
The St Louis Blues announced that they were going to cancel the rest of the 1:11 on the clock remaining in the first, and would instead add that time to the second period, so fans could catch their breath after witnessing this horrible event.
Dylan Holloway was put into a ambulance and quickly rushed to the nearest hospital.
An update has already been announced on Holloway's status, and according to doctors Holloway is going to be okay.
Also it was reported that Dylan Holloway's parents were in town for the game, and went to the hospital with him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, and hopefully everything is okay with him.
