With significant injuries to Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno already, the Bruins announced good, and bad, news regarding defenseman Derek Forbort.
Forbort was injured during Saturday's game against the Sabres. The PK specialist unsurprisingly took a shot off the foot in the second period and did not return.
What's the Bad News?
Head coach Jim Montgomery shared an update regarding the injury and how long Forbort is expected to be out for. Per Connor Ryan of Boston.com:
'Montgomery: Derek Forbort is not expected back before the end of the regular season. He's not expected to need surgery.''
The good news, however, is how Ryan also noted that surgery does not sound required.
At this point in the season and where the Bruins are sitting, any injury should be handled extra cautiously.
