Tensions are brewing in Montreal as fans continue to boo the American National anthem, and players have had enough of it. Matthew Tkachuk, one of the USA's best players decided to speak on it following their win, and defended Bruins players Charlie McAvoy, and Jeremy Swayman along with the entire USA team.

The last few days of regular season before the NHL went on a break for the Four Nations Face-off, multiple Canadian teams fans were booing the American National anthem, and many believed it would carry over into the Four Nations tournament.

The PA announcer at the Bell Centre even asked fans to respect all National anthems ahead of the USA, Finland game.

Before last night's game here in Montreal a special announcement was made asking fans to respect the anthems.
Due to the current political climate, it's a pretty safe bet a large number of those in attendance for the US/Finland game will disregard tonight's suggestion.

To no surprise, fans in attendance disregarded the announcers request, and you could clearly hear the boos echo throughout the Bell Centre.

Some light boos from the Centre Bell crowd for the American national anthem.

It seems as though this did not effect Team USA, as they went on to dominate Finland, beating them 6-1 as the Tkachuk brothers carried them to a win. Both brothers would go on to score two goals for Team USA.

Earlier today, Brad Marchand spoke on the Canadian fans booing the American National anthem, and stated that he did not agree with it.

Tkachuk was asked about the situation following their game, and he was not happy with it, and came to defend all the players on Team USA.

"I didn't like it. And that's all I've got."

Although he did not go too into detail regarding the situation, you can clearly tell that he isn't too happy with how the Canadians are treating their National anthem.

Soon the tournament will be shifting over to TD Garden in Boston, and it's going to be interesting to see if the Americans do the same to the Canadian National anthem.
