With the Four Nations Face-off tournament ongoing, and the March 7th trade deadline right around the corner, trade talks have been heating up, and the Bruins have reportedly revealed their asking price for defenseman Brandon Carlo.

The Boston Bruins have had a lot of trade rumours around them this season, and the latest one has involved top pairing defeneseman Brandon Carlo.

Carlo has been linked to several teams as we get closer to the NHL trade deadline, and there is good reasoning for it.

He is a top pairing shutdown defenseman who is 6'5 and only has a cap hit of $4.1 million that goes through until the 2026-27 season. Carlo would be a big addition to any Stanley Cup contender at the NHL trade deadline.

Boston Bruins asking price for Brandon Carlo revealed

According to NHL Trade Rumours Jimmy Murphy of the RG.org's revealed that the Boston Bruins are asking for a 2025 second-round pick for Brandon Carlo or a top prospect.

Murphy also revealed that the Boston Bruins are not actively trying to trade Brandon Carlo, but they are open to discussions regarding him.

This season has not been Brandon Carlo's best, as he has been inconsistent, and that has raised some questions about his trade value, but he is playing on a subpar Bruins team this year.

In 56 games this season, Carlo is averaging 18:40 of ice time, which is the lowest of his career since his rookie year, and is ranked last in all defensive metrics out of all Bruins defenseman.

Despite this, contending teams are still viewing Carlo as a valuable addition ahead of the playoffs due to his size, experience and ability to play big, and tough minutes.

It was reported that the Vancouver Canucks, Dallas Stars, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Edmonton Oilers have all expressed interest in acquiring the veteran defenseman.

«It's not surprising teams are calling,» a source told RG.org. «Boston isn't necessarily looking to move him, but they know what he's worth.»

The Bruins are going to be an interesting team to watch at the NHL trade deadline, as it's still unclear which direction the team is going to take.
