Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney Shocks Fans With Four Player Roster Transactions Including A Goaltender

Boston Bruins General Manager announced four player roster transactions today which included a goaltender as the NHL officially resumed today, although games will not take place until Saturday as the Four Nations is still ongoing.

The Boston Bruins received some terrible news as Charlie McAvoy missed Team USA's last game against Team Sweden due to a lower-body injury.

After the game, the news got worse. It was reported that McAvoy was admitted to the Mass. General Hospital which caught fans off guard.

Today the Boston Bruins revealed that Charlie McAvoy suffered a infection that stemmed from a minor injury, and that it shouldn't be long term, but the Boston Bruins issued a statement revealing that he will not attend the Four Nations final game against Canada on Thursday.

With this news, and the NHL resuming today, the Boston Bruins announced four roster transactions today.

Bruins make four roster moves including a goaltender

As the NHL resumed today, Boston Bruins General Manager revealed that defenseman Michael Callahan, Matt Poitras have been recalled from the Providence Bruins today along with Riley Tufte who was recalled on an emergency basis.

They also recalled goaltender Michael DiPietro from the Providence Bruins as Jeremy Swayman is still in the Four Nations and set to take on Team Canada in the championship game.

The #Bruins have recalled defenseman Michael Callahan and forward Matt Poitras from Providence and recalled forward Riley Tufte from Providence on an emergency basis. Goaltender Michael DiPietro has joined the team as a practice player during the 4 Nations Face-Off break.

The Bruins do not play until Saturday when the NHL season will resume, and they will take on the Anaheim Ducks.
