The NHL and Gary Bettman are re-considering how all 32 teams wear their uniforms home and away, this could change with the next CBA.

GM Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins will be one of the teams affected, as they like other NHL teams are governed by the CBA and Board of Governors.

That change would revamp how teams wear their white and dark uniforms. Since 2003-2004 the NHL allowed teams who played at home to wear their dark uniforms, and road teams to wear their whites.

Now, they could find a reason to reverse that ruling, as NHL Insider Ryan Kennedy dropped some information that could excite some fans about a possible rule change in the future.

"Exciting sartorial gossip: I'm told the NHL might switch back to white jerseys at home, dark jerseys on the road in the next CBA. But could we ever see dark on dark sometimes, I wonder? Red Detroit vs. Blue Toronto, for example.

This will be a topic that is brought up at the next CBA but hasn't been considered up until recently, as at the Four Nations Face-Off both teams have been allowed to wear their dark jerseys at the same time.

That is if their colors don't confuse fans with a lack of distinction on the ice.

The tournament has been aesthetically pleasing, as we've got to see both Canada and USA face-off in their dark jerseys, as the bright-red Maple Leaf adorned jersey, clashed with the dark blue of Team USA.

The match itself was one of the most highly-anticipated games during the Four Nations Face-Off, and delivered nothing less than what we expected. A highly competitive and fierce bout.

Now that we've seen what this could look like in international play, it'd be exciting to see if the Bruins and Maple Leafs could both wear their dark jerseys on ice for once in an original-six matchup.

Just imagine, the Black and Gold, contrasted by the Blue and White.

This rule change would return the status quo which stood from 1970-1971 to the 2002-2003 seasons.
