Timo Meier of the San Jose Sharks is one of the top players available at this year's Trade Deadline, and given he's only 26, several contenders will be lining up.
During a recent edition of TSN's Insider Trading, Pierre LeBrun reported that a new team from the Atlantic Division is interested in Meier.
''A team like the Buffalo Sabres has reached out to San Jose, this could be the type of player that has interest from teams that are not even sitting in a playoff spot so it's kind of a unique case here with Timo Meier. ''
Meier, 26, is having a solid year for the San Jose Sharks and that should help them maximize the return in a potential deal before the NHL's trade deadline on March 3rd.
In 49 games this season, Meier has 28 goals and 20 assists on a struggling Sharks team. The 26-year-old is set to become an RFA this summer and has a qualifying offer of $10 million
