Boston Bruins fans had some good news today and then some bad news followed.
Earlier in the day Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy announced that Charlie McAvoy would be in the lineup for tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
A couple of hours later the team dropped some bad news.
Defenseman Brandon Carlo has been diagnosed with a fractured left ankle, which means he'll miss the remainder of the season and won't be available for the playoffs either.
It's a tough blow for the B's defensive depth even if Carlo has had an up and down season.
We'll see if the Bruins make any more roster moves.
