The Boston Bruins and general manager DonSweeney announced a roster move on Thursday morning.

The team announced that they've placed 29 year old forward MattBeleskey on waivers. It doesn't really come as a surprise, as just yesterday during the first intermission of the Bruins andRed Wings game, NHL Insider Darren Dreger mentioned that he had a feeling the move was coming.

"[Beleskey's] in a tough spot, there's no question about that, and...my sense is that the Boston Bruins will likely put him on waivers within the next week or so. That's not an indictment, per se, on the individual. If he passes through waivers, and, as you've just outlined, his contract...he's a tough trade. Nobody wants to take on that deal with another two-plus years remaining."

Removing Beleskey from the Bruins lineup would remove some grit from the lineup, however head coach Bruce Cassidy doesn't really seem to be a fan of Beleskey's play anyways.

Are you surprised at all by the move?
