The Philadelphia Flyers have had yet another season to forget about. To make matters worse, GM Chuck Fletcher basically did nothing at the Trade Deadline with one of the deepest drafts in recent memory this summer.
The Flyers have huge assets such as Kevin Hayes and Ivan Provorov who were reported to be available but neither were moved. Add that to the fact that Fletcher never even offered an interested Johnny Gaudreau a contract this past offseason, Fletcher has had a horrible year.
Moments later, Marek's partner in crime Elliotte Friedman confirmed the reports, noting that a former player will be taking over his role.
Fletcher was hired as the eighth GM in Flyers history on December 3rd, 2018, and also took over as Team President when Paul Holmgren recently retired.
After finishing 29th with a 25-46-11 record last season, Philadelphia has improved from a .372 to .454 winning percentage so far, with a 24-30-11 record through 65 games.
