Hockey Community suffers a tragic loss
Sad news reverberated throughout the hockey community yesterday as the passing of Lew Morrison, a prominent figure in the sport, was announced.
The 75-year-old veteran bid farewell to this world, leaving behind a lasting legacy.
Morrison's journey began in 1968 when he was chosen as the 8th overall pick by the Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL Amateur Draft. This marked the commencement of a remarkable career that spanned across several teams, both in the NHL and AHL.
Throughout his tenure, Morrison proudly donned the jerseys of the Flyers, Calgary Flames, Washington Capitals, and Pittsburgh Penguins, while also making impactful contributions to the Quebec Aces, Richmond Robins, and Broome Dusters.
Over the course of his illustrious 14-year career, Morrison put up a total of 39 goals and 52 assists, resulting in a commendable tally of 91 points across 564 games played.
