The San Jose Sharks have had a very disappointing season and it doesn't look like it'll get better anytime soon.
The team has lost three in a row, are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games and have a -37 goal differential, not exactly inspiring numbers hoping for a playoff push.
With the team on the outside looking in, it seems the Sharks will ask Joe Thornton if he'll accept a trade to a Stanley Cup contender.
Thornton unsure if he'll be willing to do it yet, but didn't flat out say no.
Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston believes there's a chance Thornton could be willing to finish his NHL career in a push for the Stanley Cup for the team that he started with.
Thornton would be a great depth addition, however he wouldn't solve the second line scoring issues unless he took over the third line center role and Charlie Coyle was moved to the second line right wing.
