The Boston Bruins got together for the golf tourney on Tuesday and everybody is looking to put last season behind them.

The way the Bruins were talking, you'd think they didn't even make the playoffs, however losing in the Stanley Cup Finals hurt that bad and they don't even want to look back on it.

With training camp opening, they've got mostly the same roster that helped them get to the Stanley Cup Finals, however two key pieces remain at home.

Restricted free agents Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo remain unsigned.

General manager Don Sweeney feels no rush to get things but feels confident it will eventually get done.

"We've had discussions for well over a year. We'll find a spot. I've said that all along. I do believe we'll find a spot and we'll have both those players in our mix."

"I have no timeframe on when a deal will be done," Sweeney said. "I've said all along that I believe we'll find a deal at some point. I've also said I'd rather it be sooner than later. I'm not going to change my stance on that."

While Sweeney prefers they both be around for the start of training camp, he understands they won't without a deal.

"But every player has their own personal beliefs on where they need to be. We saw an extended one last year (with William Nylander). They just take a life of their own. But I have my own personal preferences, yep. No question about it. I'd much prefer the continuity. I think the player and team benefit mutually in that regard."
