Game four of the Stanley Cup Final between the Colorado Avalanche and Tampa Bay Lightning ended with a Nazem Kadri goal at 12:02 of the first overtime. The win put the Avalanche up three games to one heading back home for game five.
However ... the game didn't end without its controversy, of course! No matter what, there's one moment in every series so far these playoffs that has had a controversial play.
The controversy last night was the fact that Colorado had six players on the ice as Kadri was about to score, and realistically, they should've been given a too many men penalty on the play. Lightning head coach Jon Cooper was not happy at his post-game media availability:
"It's hard for me. It's going to be hard for me to speak ... I'll speak with you tomorrow. You're going to see what I mean when you see the winning goal."
"And my heart breaks for the players. Because we probably still should be playing. I'll be available tomorrow."
Kadri was also asked about what overshadowed his game-winner, and he didn't exactly hold back his thoughts in his reply to Cooper's claims:
