The Boston Bruins got their 2019-20 season underway last night with a win against the Dallas Stars.

While the story on the ice seems to be that the Bruins are locked and loaded for another run at the Stanley Cup.

The big story line this summer was the contract situations for restricted free agents Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo.

General manager Don Sweeney got them both done and now the big story line is Torey Krug and an extension.

Krug is slated to become an unrestricted free agent next July 1, however the good news is that both sides revealed this week they've opened discussions about an extension.

However one NHL insider isn't so sure it'll get done.

TSN's Frank Seravalli made his bold predictions for the 2019-20 season and while he doesn't see Krug getting moved at the deadline, he doesn't see him signing an extension either.

Here's Seravalli's full excerpt on the Bruins.

"Torey Krug will remain with the Bruins past TradeCentre but walk as a free agent on July 1. Short of Taylor Hall, Krug is in position to be the most sought-after player potentially available next summer. The bet is he'll never make it to the Trade Bait board as Boston GM Don Sweeney tries to maximize his team's chances this season even if that means losing Krug for nothing."
