Ovechkin's wife just exposed what it's like to be married to an NHL icon
The Washington Capitals have shaken things up early in the 2024-25 season by moving Alex Ovechkin to the right wing, even though he has spent his entire career on the left.
In his first game in the new position, Ovechkin had a multi-point game, though he admitted it felt strange at first.
Washington won again against the Dallas Stars on Thursday night, this time 3-2, though Ovechkin didn't record any points.
As Ovechkin adjusts to his new role on the ice, his wife, Anastasia Shubskaya, is also adjusting to life with a superstar. She recently posted a video on his Instagram, showing them on a date at a fancy restaurant in DC. In the background, a fan wearing an Ovechkin jersey was visible near their table. She jokingly captioned the video: "Typical dinner in DC."
This is just part of the reality of being married to an NHL legend like Ovechkin. The couple, married since 2016, have two sons, Sergei and Ilya.
While Anastasia supports Ovechkin's hockey career, it must be tough to find privacy when they go out. Even so, Ovechkin has expressed how much he appreciates her.
