The Boston Bruins punched their ticket to the Stanley Cup playoffs by earning a point in St. Louis Tuesday night.
Now their main focus will be getting back to full health before the start of the postseason.
The Bruins are in Dallas to take on the Stars tonight and they will once again be missing a slew of key contributors. David Backes, Patrice Bergeron, Zdeno Chara, Jake DeBrusk, Charlie McAvoy and Rick Nash will all miss tonight's game. Torey Krug, who was a late scratch against the Blues, will be a game time decision tonight.
Head coach Bruce Cassidy gave a very positive update on Bergeron yesterday, who could return to the lineup as early as Sunday! Cassidy told reporters today that Bergy has a doctor's appointment today and if he gets the green light, he could be joining the team in Minnesota.
If Bergeron does in fact return to the lineup on Sunday, it would be exactly one month since his last game action on February 25 versus the Buffalo Sabres. Hopefully he will be the first of many Bruins to return to the ice of the next few days!
