The Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney are working the phones and currently one of the teams trying to acquire a forward from north of the border.

Toronto Maple Leafs' forwardZachHyman has been given permission to start talking with other teams before he hits free agency to see if a deal can be made for his rights.

There's currently 7 teams in the mix and the Bruins are one of them.

According to Maple Leafs' insider KevinMcGran, the EdmontonOilers, Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks have already made serious offers for Hyman and are the front runners.

Meanwhile the Pittsburgh Penguins, BostonBruins, Florida Panthers and Detroit Red Wings are also making a push for the winger.

McGran adds that Hyman hasn't closed the door on the Leafs but would want an 8 year deal that features a full no movement clause if the Leafs can only offer a $5million AAV.

It likely means that if theB's are serious about Hyman, they'll have to offer him a long term deal with an AAV of at least $6million.

The 29 year old had 15 goals and 33 points in 43 games this past season and had back to back 20 goal seasons prior to that which included 21 goals in 51 games during the 2019-20 season.

Do you think Hyman would be a good fit in Boston?
