The Boston Bruins made headlines yesterday for some unfortunate reasons as we saw the team let longtime captain and leader Zdeno Chara walk as a free agent and join the Washington Capitals.
Today was back to business as general manager Don Sweeney spoke to reporters to address the current lineup and the opening of training camp in a couple of days.
Among the questions were the current status of forward Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak.
The team announced injuries to both players during the offseason which led to speculation whether they'd start the season or not.
Well one will and the other won't.
Sweeney revealed to reporters that Marchand is ready to roll and will start training camp with the main group.
Pastrnak on the other hand hand won't be around.
Not only will Pastrnak not be ready for camp, he'll also miss the start of the regular season according to Sweeney.
So we'll see the Bruins start the season without Pastrnak because of injury and without Torey Krug and Zdeno Chara because of free agency.
