The Boston Bruins are currently trying to figure out a way to sign restricted free agents Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo with just $7.2million in cap space.
Eventually general manager Don Sweeney will get it figured out, but next summer he's got another huge deal to take care of.
If the Bruins can't figure out a contract extension with Torey Krug before next summer he'll be UFA and will have the chance to make some huge money on the open market.
Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now believes that Krug will be able to command around $9million a season on the open market.
The Bruins currently have $31million in cap space for next season, however that doesn't include McAvoy and Carlo along with the fact they only have 13 players signed for next year.
Would you be willing to pay Krug $9million a season?
