Don Sweeney had made it known that the Bruins will be aggressive in the off-season.

«There are some things that we need to address from the standpoint of free agency and/or internal growth," said the veteran general manager. "I have to be able to find some players that can come in and provide secondary scoring. We're going to be aggressive to be able to complement what we currently have in some areas I've got to find the players that complement our group and push us forward."

With $20 Million of cap space to play with, means that Sweeney could be pursuing one of the best-free agents on the market during the 2024 off-season.

Patrick Kane is whom Don Sweeney could be after, who has likely spent the last of his time in Detroit, after the team failed to make the post-season, just shy of a Wild Card spot.

After his hip-resurfacing surgery, the Kane we all know reappeared after signing in Detroit halfway through the season, posting 47 points in 50 games, appearing on the top line with Dylan Larkin and his former teammate, Alex DeBrincat regularly.

While Kane is getting older, he could provide the team with the secondary scoring needed to push the team further into the off-season.

He could find a great place in the Bruins top-six which has been filled with depth pieces by attrittion lately, after David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron's retirements, left the team with Charlie Coyle and Pavel Zacha as fill-ins.
