The Boston Bruins traded goalie Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators yesterday, as the Bruins secured a late 1st round pick.

Achieving what he had hoped for, Don Sweeney of course issued a heartfelt message on the team and Ullmark's past.

«The Boston Bruins would like to thank Linus, Moa, Harry and Lily for all of their contributions to the Bruins' family,» the statement read. «Linus is a Vezina-winning goalie who was a star on and off the ice. We want to wish Linus and his family much success and happiness as he continues his career in Ottawa.»

The Bruins would receive goalie Joonas Korpisalo, winger Mario Kastelic and the 25th pick in the 1st round of this years draft.

Ullmark has played the past three-season in Boston, after signing a four year deal in 2021.

During his time in Boston, he had made regular trips to the playoffs and defined himself an starting goalie and with this move, he has found his new home in the Canadian capital.

All the while, the team has shown their faith in Jeremy Swayman, who will be the #1 netminder in Boston.

In order to back-up Swayman, the team signed Brandon Bussi to a one-year, two-year contract on Monday.

With ther 25th overall pick, the team will draft in the 1st round for the first time since 2021.
