Elliotte Friedman has officially reported that the Columbus Blue Jackets have moved on from Patrik Laine.

It was just announced that Patrik Laine has been traded to the Montreal Canadiens from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

This has to be one of the most underrated moves of the off-season, as a former 40+ goal scorer just got traded for little to nothing.

Patrik Laine has been surrounded with trade rumours ever since stating that he wants out of Columbus, and the Montreal Canadiens have been linked to him for awhile now.

If Patrik Laine can return to scoring 30-40 goals, this will be a big step in Montreal being competitive once again.

"translation: Nothing official yet, because the transaction has not yet been approved by the NHL, but everything indicates that Patrik Laine will be traded to the Montreal Canadiens."

Do you think the Montreal Canadiens will make the playoffs after trading for Patrik Laine?
