Insider reveals serious info on the Bruins making a blockbuster trade
Claude Giroux hasn't found the success he'd hoped for in his hometown, Ottawa Senators. Instead, the Flyer is looking for a way out of Canada, and back to the States.
Two years ago the Ottawa Senators signed Claude Giroux, in hopes of ending the rebuild that had begun prior to his arrival. Playing alongside Brady Tkachuk Tim Stutzle, and Jakob Chychrun.
Since then the team's been struggling in the Atlantic Division and hasn't reached the playoffs once. This is despite Giroux's consistent production of 79 points in 2023-2024 and 64 points in 2023-2024.
The Hockey News has listed the veteran forward, as a trade candidate ahead of the 2024-2025 season. Should the Senators struggle, Giroux will want to abandon ship.
They are hoping that the summer addition of star goaltender Linus Ullmark will make them into a playoff team. However, if improving between the pipes still isn't enough, Giroux could become a very popular name in the rumor mill when we get closer to the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline Since the Bruins and Senators have successfully pulled off a trade with Linus Ullmark, it wouldn't hurt for Don Sweeney to call in on Giroux and see what the going price would be for the former Flyers star.
He is 36 and could want to hunt for a cup one more time. But he could also wanna stay in his hometown.
For now, we have to wait and see how the story develops.
