The Boston Bruins, of course, want to improve a roster worn down from attrition and trades.

Gone are Taylor Hall, Nick Foligno, and AJ Greer as they were waived, or were traded to other teams.

The Bruins would waive AJ Greer, a 4th liner with some offensive upside on October 8th, 2023 and his right would later be claimed by the Calgary Flames not more than a day later.

Possible #NHLBruins UFA target, LW AJ Greer. 27 years old. Calgary Flames

Bring Greer back?

While it's unlikely that the team will ever reunite with Nick Foligno or Taylor Hall they could reunite with a hard-nosed player like Greer during free-agency.

He's a hitting machine and effective as a defensive forward primarily, as with the Flames last season he achieved 100 hits, in 59 games.

While offering a small bit of offensive upside, scoring 12 points( 6 G, 6 A) and will be a UFA at the end of the season.

Greer originally signed a $1.5 Million total contract, over 2 years with the Bruins and Don Sweeney.

He couldn't cost much more than he did the first time and still give the 3rd and 4th lines some much needed bite missing lately.
