The NHL Department of Player Safety has taken its first action of the 2023/24 Season by announcing a suspension. The official announcement was made via the league's Twitter account.

Los Angeles' Arthur Kaliyev is facing a suspension for kneeing Anaheim's Chase De Leo, an incident that occurred during the second period of Tuesday night's game.

While Kaliyev received a 2-minute penalty for kneeing during the game, the Department of Player Safety has now issued a more substantial suspension, totaling four games across both the preseason and regular season.

Arthur Kaliyev's suspension consists of two preseason games and two regular season games, marking the first disciplinary action of the season by the NHL Department of Player Safety.
