It was just announced that former Boston Bruins goaltender Keith Kinkaid has signed a new contract with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. The Chicago Wolves are the affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes.
Keith Kinkaid was on a professional tryout contract with the New York Islanders, but yesterday it was announced that he was let go from his tryout contract. But Kinkaid is keeping his hockey dreams alive by signing a deal in the AHL.
The veteran goaltender spent all of last season with the Chicago Wolves, the team he just signed with. Kinkaid struggled last year in the AHL putting up a record of 8-14-2, with a .880 SV%, and a 3.54 GAA. Having these types of numbers will not get you an NHL contract.
Keith Kinkaid only played one game for the Boston Bruins, and that was during the 2022-23 season. During that one game Kinkaid had a solid one, getting the win for the Bruins and only allowing one goal. But during his time with Providence he struggled having a 8-7-4 record, .909 SV%, and a 3.10 GAA in 20 games.
