On Saturday, the Boston Bruins had a beautiful comeback win against the Colorado Avalanche at TD Garden during an afternoon game.
David Pastrnak was the star of the game after completing a three-point effort. Morgan Geekie helped majorly as well scoring two third period goals including the game winner for the Boston Bruins.
Surprisingly though, neither of them ended up earning the game puck from Joonas Korpsialo following the game. Jeremy Swayman didn't make the cut either after stopping 24 shots and only allowing one goal against the Avalanche's high-powered offense.
Korpisalo earned the game puck during their previous game when he ended up shutting out the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night, and ended up passing it on to defenseman Brandon Carlo after beating the Colorado Avalanche.
When Carlo went to accept the honour from Korpisalo, you can see a raw gash and stitches on his left cheek.
This was from him taking a puck to the face briefly causing him to leave the game. The Bruins were up 2-1 on the Avalanche after Geekie scored, when the Avalanche started to apply pressure.
A broken stick off of a one-timer from Cale Makar caused the puck to bounce to an Avalanche forward in the corner behind the net. The forward then took a shot from the weird angle and missed the net, hitting Brandon Carlo right in the face.
Immediately Carlo would leave the ice and head down the tunnel for repairs, but would end up returning to the game shortly after.
Carlo would end the game with 18:50 of ice time in 24 shifts against the Colorado Avalanche.
