Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco just met with the media moments before their game and announced multiple players as healthy scratches, and speculation has surfaced that a trade could be on the way.

It's not uncommon for teams to healthy scratch top trade candidates as the NHL trade deadline approaches, and there is some speculation that the Boston Bruins may be doing this today.
Elliotte Friedman confirmed today that the Nashville Predators are doing exactly this as they healthy scratched Gustav Nyquist today right before their game for trade reasons.
General Manager Don Sweeney made some roster moves yesterday after Oliver Wahlstrom cleared waivers he was sent to Providence, along with Michael Callahan, and Riley Tufte.
In return the Boston Bruins ended up calling up Georgii Merkulov, Ian Mitchell, and Jeffrey Viel.

Bruins Announce Multiple Healthy Scratches

Just before the game, interim head coach Joe Sacco confirmed that all of Viel, Mitchell and Merkulov will play against the Pittsburgh Penguins today.
He also revealed that Justin Brazeau, and Jordan Oesterle will be healthy scratches.
Update Bruins:
Viel, Mitchell and The Merk all will play today at PIT

Scratches: Big, Bad Brazeau and Oesterle.
The 6-foot-6 winger has been solid for the Bruins in a depth role scoring 10 goals, along with 10 assists for 20 points in 55 games played.
There is a chance that the Bruins made this move to be cautious as they head closer to the NHL trade deadline.
