The Bruins are set to take on the New Jersey Devils tonight, and it was just revealed that a key player did not travel with them, and the reasoning was also just revealed.
Following practice this morning, Boston Bruins interim head coach revealed why Bruins gritty forward Trent Frederic is not with the team.
Trent Frederic ended up missing the Boston Bruins previous game against the San Jose Sharks due to illness.
Joe Sacco revealed today that Trent Frederic stayed at home back in Boston and did not travel with the team because he is still dealing with this illness.
Trent Frederic has faced a lot of controversy this year, with him having a down year in his offensive production, but that is mainly due to Joe Sacco making him center the third line.
Frederic isn't known to be a center, although he can fill in when needed, he is a much more complete player when he is playing on the wing.
Nonetheless this is a tough loss for the Bruins, and Oliver Wahlstrom will more then likely take his spot in the lineup once again, but the Bruins are definitely going to miss the grit that Trent Frederic brings to the lineup every night.
This season, as said before has been a down year for Frederic. He has appeared in 47 games this year for the Boston Bruins and has greatly struggled having scored just 7 goals, 7 assists for just 14 points on the year.
There has been a lot of trade chatter around his name this year, and he will more than likely end up getting traded at the trade deadline.
