Recent reports have revealed that the Los Angeles Kings might be looking to buyout Pierre-Luc Dubois.
Buyouts happen all the time for NHL teams, but the L.A. Kings and Pierre-Luc Dubois have an interesting situation as he just signed a 8-year $8.5 million deal with the team during a sign and trade that took place last year.
Dubois had a very disappointing season with the L.A. Kings only putting up 40 points after signing a monster contract with the team, and has put Kings GM Rob Blake in a tough situation.
Frank Seravalli of the Dailyfacoff reported that even though Blake stated that they probably won't buy out Dubois, he thinks he might have changed his mind and a buyout could happen very soon.
The buyout window opens up on June 15th or 48 hours after the Stanley Cup Finals are over.
The L.A. Kings have some tough decisions to make regarding Dubois and need to make a decision before he turns 26 on June 24th or else they will owe him two-thirds of his contract instead of a third.
As seen on Hockeyfeed - NHL insider insists an insane buyout is coming soon.
