Just as things were looking good for the Boston Bruins, they ended up losing a horrible game against the Ottawa Senators Saturday night, after blowing yet another third period lead.
The Ottawa Senators ended up scoring two late goals in the third period to tie the game 5-5 to force overtime. Overtime didn't solve anything, and the Bruins would end up losing in a shootout.
It was noticed by many that Brad Marchand did not play a single minute in overtime, and was not featured in the Bruins shootout lineup where he normally is.
With such an important game on the line, you would want your best players playing, but that wasn't the case for the Bruins.
There was a lot of speculation that Brad Marchand may have suffered an injury or something, but following the game interim head coach Joe Sacco spoke with the media and confirmed that there was no injury.
Joe Sacco revealed that the reason Brad Marchand did not play in overtime or appear in the shootout was because of a coaching decision.
When answering the questions regarding Bruins captain Brad Marchand, Joe Sacco looked furious.
It's unclear what exactly happened for Brad Marchand to be benched by Joe Sacco, but if you want to hear all of his post game comments you can watch the video below:
