The Bruins currently have their starting goaltender, Linus Ullmark. However, Ullmark and young goalie Jeremy Swayman made the best goalie duo in the NHL. Well, Jeremy Swayman filed for arbitration, and the two sides have still yet to agree on something.
Bruins are at $2 million, and Swayman is at $4.8 million. $4.8 million is steep for a backup goaltender, however $2 million is kind of low. Swayman is only 24 years old, and with Ullmark aging, he is the future netminder in Boston. He had a 2.27 GAA with a .920 SV% as a backup goalie. He offered a lot of insurance that you can give Linus days off, and you wouldn't have to worry about performance in between the pipes.
The arbitrator has been feeling generous this year, going into the middle or more of what the team is willing to give a player and what the player wants. Expect a $2.5 to $3.5 million deal for Jeremy.
