Boston Bruins Issue An Emotional Statement Following The Passing Of A Former Bruins Player
The Boston Bruins issued an emotional statement after former Boston Bruins player Dwight Foster passed away.
Yesterday it was announced that former Boston Bruins player Dwight Foster unfortunately passed away, but it did not state what the reasoning was.
Foster was originally drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft, and would play his first four years with the Boston Bruins before going to the Colorado Rockies.
Later in his career, Foster would end up back with the Boston Bruins for the remaining two years of his NHL career before retiring after being traded back to the organization by the Detroit Red Wings.
Boston Bruins Alumni on X had released a statement following the news of Foster passing away.
We were devastated and saddened to hear of the passing of Dwight Foster at the age of 67.
Dwight was beloved and highly respected by his teammates, and he will be missed by the entire Bruins family.
A #1 draft pick of the Bruins in 1977, Dwight had two stints with the B's in the 70s and 80s. In total he played 541 NHL games with Boston, Detroit, New Jersey and the Colorado Rockies.
More importantly, he was a first-class guy with a kind heart.
We send our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
Not long after, the Boston Bruins X would also release an emotional statement after finding out about the unfortunate news.
The Bruins are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dwight Foster, who donned the Spoked-B from 1977-81 as part of the Lunch Pail A.C. and again from 1985-87.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and teammates.
Foster would end up leaving behind four kids.
May he Rest in Peace.
