The Boston Bruins have congratulated former defense and Captain Zdeno Chara for his induction into the IIHF Hall of Fame. The former Bruin has a star-studded resume, with seven World Championships under his belt.

The Boston Bruins have a Hall of Famer in Zdeno Chara, as he was inducted into the IIHF Hall Of Fame.

The former Bruins defenseman and Captain has played in three Olympic games(2006-2014) and played in several World Championships(1999-2012), and two World Cups to his name(2004, 2016).

Now, in 2025 Chara was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame, and the Bruins have congratulated the defenseman for his latest accolade.

In addition, he won two Silver Medals and was Slovakia's captain twice during the Olympics (2010 & 2014).

Zdeno Chara continues to earn renown, after the end of his career which has seen him win the Stanley Cup in addition to his Silver Medals, and Captaincy for Team Slovakia.

The first stop for the Bruins defenseman was the IIHF Hall of Fame, but Toronto, ironically should be next.

As he should be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, considering the latest class which included his peers such as Jeremy Roenick.

Congratulations to Chara and his career will be remembered by us all, including moments of toughness. Who can forget him forging on in the Stanley Cup playoffs with a broken jaw in 2019?

After getting into the IIHF Hall of Fame, Chara's next stop should be the Hockey Hall of Fame. He had a historic NHL career, posting 209 goals, 471 assists, and 680 points in 1,680 career NHL games over 24 seasons. He also won the Norris Trophy in 2012 and captained the Bruins to the Stanley Cup in 2011.
