Boston Bruins organization has announced the signing of former rivalry player Tyler Pitlick

The Boston Bruins organization has officially announced the signing of a former rivalry player in Tyler Pitlick.

This morning, Providence Bruins General Manager Evan Gold announced that the Providence Bruins have officially signed Tyler Pitlick to an American Hockey League Professional Tryout contract.

There were rumours last week that the Bruins were going to offer Pitlick a contract, and those rumours proved to be true.

The report stated that they were trying to get a deal done whether it be an NHL deal or AHL, they were working on it.

UFA Forward Tyler Pitlick is on a PTO w/ the Providence Bruins. Assumption is a BOS will try to get a deal (NHL or AHL) done at some point.

There are other teams expressing interest; the player may wait things out to see where chips fall w/ other clubs to start the season.

The 32-year-old veteran played with the New York Rangers last season, and appeared in 34 NHL games. In those games he tallied one goal and three assists. When he wasn't with the Rangers, the 6-foot-2, 201-pound forward was playing in the American Hockey League with the Hartford Wolf Pack, where he would appear in 22 games, and put up three goals, and four assists.

The veteran has appeared in 420 NHL games with 8 different organizations including the Edmonton Oilers, Dallas Stars, Philadelphia Flyers, Arizona Coyotes, Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, and New York Rangers. In those 420 games Pitlick career points are 56 goals, and 53 assists for a total of 109 points.
