Boston Bruins place fan favourite on the waiver wire
The Boston Bruins announced today they have made two roster cuts, one of which is a Bruins fan favorite.
That is goalie, Brandon Bussi who has been a staple in the Providence Bruins lineup. In the AHL last season he played 41 games, with a record of 23-10-5, 2.67 GAA, and a,913 save percentage.
The Bruins recently announced they would waive Brandon Bussi with recently signed Jiri Patera, with the signing of starting goalie Jeremy Swayman.
Though it had seemed the Bruins might have to rely upon Brandon Bussi to back up Joonas Korpisalo, if the stalemate persisted, Don Sweeney and company have gotten the job done.
While Bussi will get more time in the AHL to get more reps than he'd get in the NHL, as a backup to either Jeremy Swayman or Joonas Korpisalo.
Bussi hasn't seen much NHL playing time, due to the fact that the Bruins goaltending situation has never been an issue.
In 2023-2024, the Bruins had Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark, and the tandem was solid in the net.
Will Brandon Bussi ever get a shot in the NHL?
He recently signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Bruins this summer, with a league minimum $775K contract.
Bussi was originally brought into the organization as a free agent in 2022.

It appears that the goaltending situation is so strong, that not even Bussi can crack the lineup.
Bussi gave up 9 GA in 4 NHL preseason games, perhaps he needs more seasoning in Providence.
